Keenan Allen Traded to Chicago Bears
Chargers' Receiver Departs After Nine Seasons
Allen Traded for Fourth-Round Pick
The Chicago Bears have acquired wide receiver Keenan Allen from the Los Angeles Chargers in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Allen, a perennial Pro Bowl wide receiver, spent his entire nine-year NFL career with the Chargers before Thursday's trade.
During his time with the Chargers, Allen racked up over 900 receptions, 10,263 receiving yards, and 80 touchdowns.
The 30-year-old wide receiver topped the 10,000 career receiving yards achievement during Monday night's 27-6 victory over the Denver Broncos.
Allen's move to the Bears comes after a recent column by Sports Illustrated NFL reporter Albert Breer noted that Allen had bulked up to 230 pounds.
The Chargers will receive the Bears' fourth-round pick, which is currently No. 139 overall, in the 2023 NFL Draft.
The trade is expected to be finalized once both teams pass physicals.
